Maureen Denise McCormick - the youngest of Richard McCormick's sons was born in Woodland Hills, California in 1956. She was raised by a mother who was an housewife, and her father who taught. Michael Dennis Kevin, her two older brothers. McCormick was a gifted artist and singer from a young age. Her passion was to show puppet shows to entertain her friends. McCormick won her first contest, the Baby Miss San Fernando Valley Contest when she was just 6 years old and was approached via Pat Domigan, a talent agent from the Jack Wormser Agency. He requested that she be interested to be a part of the business of show production. McCormick was chosen to play in her first big part in 1964, in the tv spot for Mattels new doll, Baby Pattaburp. McCormick also starred in a commercial in the year 1964 for Mattels Chatty Cathy toy and soon she was given the lead role in the play Wind It up and It is Broken, a show at La Jolla Playhouse. The Brady Bunch In 1969 McCormick was selected out of a crowd of over 1,200 kids who auditioned for the chance for the role of the oldest of three daughters towheaded on the brand new TV sitcom The Brady Bunch starring Florence Henderson as well as Robert Reed as newlyweds with the family of a blended couple. The five-year run of the show proved to be a huge successful one. McCormick's autobiography Heres the Story, Surviving Marcia Brady: Finding My True Voice was published in 2008. She revealed in it the fact that McCormick almost lost her virginity while on set of the series during its fifth season to Barry Williams. She was just 16 when the incident occurred and he was just 19. It was a time that would have not worked for us, she told me.
