Maureen Denise McCormick, the only child from Richard McCormick and Irene McCormick, was born in Woodland Hills California on 5 August 1956. The mother of the child was home as a mother. She has three older brothers: Michael Dennis and Kevin. From a young age, McCormick loved to sing as well as dance. She would also perform puppet shows for kids in the community. The fairytale story of her rise to fame began when she took home her first Baby Miss San Fernando Valley contest at the age of six, which prompted an inquiry from the talent agent Pat Domigan of the Jack Wormser Agency who inquired if she'd like to be in show business. McCormick landed her first major work in 1964, when she appeared in a commercial on television for Mattels latest doll, Baby Pattaburp. A year later she appeared in an additional firm's Chatty Cathy Doll and was immediately cast in The Brady Bunch La Jolla Playhouse play Wind ItUp And ItBreaks. The Brady Bunch McCormick won the 1969 audition of 1,200 youngsters to be the oldest of the three twin daughters in the TV program The Brady Bunch, starring Florence Henderson as a newlywed together with Robert Reed. The series lasted 5 years. McCormick said in her book from 2008 Heres the Story : Surviving Marcia Brady & Finding My True Voice that she nearly lost her virginity during the fifth season to Barry Williams, her co-star as well as her on-screen brother. The actress was only 16 when the incident occurred; he was 19. The two of us could have been in a couple, she added. But the timing wasn't just right.
