Maureen Denise McCormick, the sole child from Richard McCormick Irene McCormick, was born in Woodland Hills California on 5 August 1956. Her father worked as an elementary school teacher, while her mother was mother at home. Michael Dennis and Kevin are three of her brothers older than her. At a young age McCormick was a singer as well as dance. She would also present puppet shows to youngsters in the area. After winning her first Baby Miss San Fernando Valley contest when she was 6 an old Pat Domigan called from Jack Wormser Agency to see what she thought about getting involved in the industry of entertainment. McCormick got her first job as a major actress in the year 1964. She was featured in an ad campaign for Mattels the newest doll baby Pattaburp. Later that year she did another commercial with the company's Chatty Cathy doll and was soon cast in the play the play Wind It Up And It breaks at the La Jolla Playhouse. The Brady Bunch In 1969 McCormick was chosen from among 1500 children who had auditioned to be the youngest of three towheaded daughters in the upcoming TV sitcom The Brady Bunch starring Florence Henderson and Robert Reed as newlyweds with the family of a blended couple. The run of five years for the show proved to be a huge success. In her book Heres the Story: Surviving Marcia Brady and Finding My True Voice which was published in 2008 McCormick disclosed that during the shows fifth season she almost lost her virginity to her screen brother and co-star Barry Williams. The actress was just 16 years older and the actor 19 at the moment. The two of us could have been in a couple, she added. However, the timing was not right.
