
Jennifer has always wanted to become a multi-tasking celebrity. In her youth, she enjoyed a variety of genres of music, but she particularly enjoyed Afro-Caribbean styles like salsa merengue and bachata, and popular music such as pop, hip-hop and R&B. While she was a fan of films, it was the world of music that also intrigued her. Her most significant influence came from the Rita Moreno musical, West Side Story (1961). At 5, Jennifer began taking singing and dancing lessons. Jennifer as well as being an entertainer as well as a Catholic schoolgirl, attended for eight years at Holy Family Catholic Primary School located in The Bronx. After a time of four years in the Bronx, she graduated from Preston High School, an all-girls prep school. Jennifer did well in sports throughout her school years and played tennis and the track and field. The Castle Hill neighbourhood was her residence for the majority of her time. Jennifer moved out of the house when she turned 18 and moved in with her family. During this time, Lopez worked at a law firm while she took dance classes at night.
